Luciana was born at home in Rome by her parents - Luciana's father was Manlio Paoluzzi an Italian Army officer, and her mother was Maria Rota Paoluzzi who was the one of Benito's mistresses. Her siblings are unknown. Luciana was a student at a local high school prior to matriculating into the Scientific Academy of Milan in 1955. Luciana was one of the only women in her class. Following two years of modeling she landed a role in Three Coins in the Fountain. It was her first role. Her first marriage was with Brett Halsey who is also an actor. After their wedding in 1960, they made a movie together entitled Return to the Peyton Palace. The couple was blessed with one son, named Charles born on June 13, 1961 but divorced a year after the birth of Charles and Luciana was given custody. Luciana and Tony Athony dated between 1962 and 1970. Tony Athony was a performer and producer who was inspired by Luciana's contribution to the movie Green Slime. Based on the film, he wrote and wrote his own Spaghetti Western hybrid that became well-known.
